Peer Mentors are undergraduate students only (rising sophomores, juniors and seniors).

Mentees are undergraduate freshmen only.

Graduate students are ineligible to be Peer Mentors, but can apply to be faculty/staff mentors beginning in January 2013. We do not offer mentoring to graduate students.

2012

Wednesday November 7, 5pm

Peer Mentor Recruitment Mass Meeting @ Michigan Union Pond Room, 5pm. Find out more about our expectations for Mentors, how the program works and  our programs and activities! Mass meetings are one hour long. Attend only one of the two mass meetings offered.

Returning peer mentors do NOT need to attend mass meetings.

2013

Wednesday January 9, 5pm

January 18   

Peer Mentor Applications Due to Mentorship Office by 5pm.

January 25     

First round status letters emailed to applicants. Applicants who pass the first round will be invited for an in-person interview with our staff upon receiving acceptance.

Janurary 30 -Feb 15

Peer Mentor Interviews, Various Conference Rooms, Michigan Union. Those accepted for interviews will sign up for a specific time slot and location within the Michigan Union during these days, where 2 CCs will interview each Peer Mentor.

March 1      

Final status emailed to interviewees.

March 9   

Peer Mentor Training, 11am-4:00pm, Michigan Union. The training is essential for the success of mentors and allows you to meet the other mentors in your core and participate in workshops to prepare you for your experience as a mentor. Lunch provided.

Summer 2013

By mid-August, Mentors will be informed of the mentees in their groups. Once this is received, mentors should contact their mentees and, if possible, plan to meet prior to the Kickoff event in September.
