How to Register for Parent & Family Orientation
Your student will register you for Parent & Family Orientation when they register for their Orientation program. Registration for Parent & Family Orientation will open in mid-April.
Space in the program is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-ins will be accepeted on a space-available basis and are generally not available on Sundays. You must register at least two weeks in advance of your desired program date. Once your student has registered, they will be unable to make changes to this registration online.
Most families choose to begin their Parent & Family Orientation program on the same date that their student begins the Student Orientation program.
Your student's school or college determines which dates are available for the Parent & Family Orientation program, and not all schools/colleges offer orientation programs on every day. If you and your student have flexible travel and work arrangements, we encourage you to attend an orientation program that does not begin on Sunday. This allows more spaces for families who do not have flexible schedules. We appreciate it!
If for some reason, you are unable to attend Parent & Family Orientation on the same date as your student, or if your student has any difficulty signing up for a Parent & Family Orientation date, we will be happy to assist you. Please call the Office of New Student Programs at (734) 764-6413 and we will register you by phone. Please note that your student must be already registered for Freshman Orientation before we will be able to register a parent or family member by phone.
The Parent & Family Orientation program can sometimes accommodate a small number of walk-ins, but not always. Walk-in spaces are generally more available for programs beginning on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
