First-year Students
Summer and fall admits: Invitations to register for Go Blue Orientation will be sent to your U-M email address in April.
We look forward to working with you as you start your journey as a Michigan Wolverine.
Go Blue Orientation is a hybrid experience involving both virtual and in-person components for all students. All steps of Go Blue Orientation are required for new students.
Go Blue Orientation consists of three main components: preadvising activities and virtual placement exams, Virtual Academic Advising, and a one-day On-campus Experience.
You will be invited to register for Go Blue Orientation via your U-M email in April (summer and fall admits) or November (winter term admits).
If you have I-20 questions, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions directly.
If you are an F-1 or J-1 student, you may have additional steps to take prior to or once you are on campus as required by the International Center. Please be sure to check your U-M email regularly for more information on any additional requirements.
Go Blue Orientation registration will launch in April for students starting in the summer and fall terms and in November for students starting in the winter term. During this time, students will gain access to and complete the online orientation course and placement exams. Both of these activities must be completed before your Virtual Academic Advising appointment.
Students starting in summer term will attend their On-campus Experience on June 29. Fall term students will see available dates in the months of July and August based on their respective school or college. Winter term students will attend their On-campus Experience on Jan. 12, 2027.
