Fall Admits

Now that you have been admitted for the Fall Term, there are several things you will need to do before coming to Ann Arbor in the fall:

1. Pay the $300 enrollment deposit.

This deposit guarantees your spot at the University of Michigan for the Fall Term and triggers many other processes for you to become an enrolled student. If you don’t pay the enrollment deposit, or do not have it waived by the University, you will not be able to sign up for orientation and register for classes.

2. Get your uniqname.

Your uniqname is your official University of Michigan computing account and email address.  Once the University receives your Enrollment Deposit, it takes about 2 days before you will be able to set up your uniqname, and it may take another 24-48 hours for your uniqname to officially become active.

3. Sign up for and attend orientation.

Use the navigation to the left to learn more about the different orientation programs for transfer students.  For transfer students admitted to the Fall Term, we offer several 1-Day Transfer Orientation Programs that occur over the summer. Available orientation dates are determined by your school or college. Not all orientation dates are available to students in all schools and colleges.

4. Review the Preparing for Orientation section

After signing up for orientation, review the "Preparing for Orientation" section of this website for information about things that need to be completed before coming to orientation.
