Welcome to the University of Michigan family!
Thank you for supporting your student’s decision to attend the University of Michigan. We believe that parents and family members are an important source of encouragement and support as students enter the university.
Parent & Family Orientation - Winter
Starting in November, your student will be able to register up to two adult guests for the Parent and Family Orientation program that will occur on the same day as their one-day On-campus Experience. You may also take the Virtual Orientation Course described below.

The Office of New Student Programs (ONSP) Parent & Family Virtual Orientation Course provides you, the family members of incoming first-year and transfer students, the opportunity to learn about campus resources, policies and procedures, and how to support your student during the transition to U-M. This course serves as your general introduction to the University of Michigan and complements the information provided by your student's individual school or college academic information for families.
