How to Register

Spring, summer, and fall admits: Check back in April 2023 for information regarding orientation.
Registration for orientation will begin in April. You will not be able to register until you have received an email to do so from the Office of New Student Programs. These orientation invitations will be sent via email to all students who have paid their enrollment deposits.
If you pay your enrollment deposit after May 1, you can expect to receive an orientation invitation via email approximately one week after your enrollment deposit becomes fully active in the University of Michigan system.
In preparation for orientation, please do the following as soon as possible:
This deposit guarantees your spot in the upcoming academic term and triggers many other processes for you to become an enrolled student. If you do not pay the enrollment deposit, or do not have it waived by the university, you will not be able to complete orientation and register for classes.
Your uniqname is your official University of Michigan computing account and email address. Once the university receives your Enrollment Deposit, it takes about two days before you will be able to set up your uniqname, and it may take another 24-48 hours for your uniqname to officially become active. Your uniqname is also your new email address. For example, if your uniqname is newstudent, your new university email address is "newstudent@umich.edu". Please check your emails regularly to this account as all university communications will be directed to it. Information about orientation will be sent to this U-M email.
