Below is a typical timeline for the University Mentorship Program. Events vary from year to year to account for the evolving needs and interests of incoming students so all program participants receive full calendars and reminders upon joining the program.

April-July

  • Mentee applications available

July-August

  • Mentee application status announced
  • Mentor groups finalized and announced

September

  • Mentors training sessions to prepare mentors for their role prior to the program Kickoff
  • Mentorship Kickoff opening event for all registered participants, mentors, and staff
  • Additional program activities

October

  • Cider Mill & Country Fair Outing social visit to a local cider mill and corn maze in Southeast Michigan
  • Stressbusters learn tips to stay healthy, learn time management and study skills, enjoy food, chair massages and de-stress activities
  • Additional program activities

November

  • Campus Opportunities Workshop to help students learn more about internships, research, community service and employment opportunities
  • Additional program activities

December 

  • Winterfest closing reception to honor mentors of the year and say farewell to our participants
